Four months after his death, a newly obtained secret recording from the Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office has XXXTentacion confessing to violent crimes, including some against his former girlfriend.
The late rapper was awaiting trial for the domestic abuse case, which he was arrested in October 2016 for. His ex alleges he repeatedly beat and strangled her from May through October, even holding her captive so she couldn’t go to a hospital until her face healed after severely beating her. XXXTentacion (real name Jahseh Onfroy) was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant victim, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness tampering — all of which he pleaded not guilty to.

The new tape obtained by Pitchfork has the Florida artist talking about his ex-girlfriend, who he believed had cheated on him:

“I put my source of happiness in another person, which was a mistake initially, right? But she fell through on every occasion until now. Until I started f**king her up bruh. I started f**king her up because she made one mistake. And from there, the whole cycle went down. Now she’s scared. That girl is scared for her life. Which I understand.”

The rapper continued:

“I’m on [Miami] New Times for stabbing, how many people they put in the news? They said three, it was eight. In Deerfield. She know that. She’s seen this shit… She know. So she’s scared. She thinks I’m going to kill her.”

Earlier on in the tape, he told an acquaintance:

“I will kill that bitch if she play with me.”

Wow.
Per Pitchfork, the Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office told them both the prosecution and rapper’s defense considered the tapes to be a confession, but all cases against the 20-year-old were dropped after his death.
