Christian? Cowboy?
Tired of your regular Sunday morning?
Then we’ve got the church for you!
After riding a bucking bronco, you can go hit up the barn and ask God to forgive you for hitting the moonshine and lassoing someone at the farm.
The “Cowboy Church” movement is about 40 years old and gaining popularity, with new churches starting up all the time.
Members believe it’s the “come as you are” atmosphere and “an out-of-the-box method” that draw newcomers to the church. Others think it’s the brief devotions and absence of pressure to donate that rope in folks turned off to traditional church.
Folks come dressed in cowboy hats and boots, and learn about God through horse-tamings, deer antlers, bull riding, and country band performances.
Some congregations take place in rodeo arenas, while others occur in Western-themed sanctuaries.
If you join today, you might even get baptized in a horse trough!
