Seriously, what’s with all the recent remakes and sequels? That definitely seems to be the trend with Rob Zombie.
The musician director has done Halloween and Halloween II – and now he’s just signed on for another remake.
The rocker will be writing, directing, and producing a remake of the 1958 horror flick The Blob.
Why?!?!
The original film is about an alien who lands in a small town and absorbs humans with its red blob of jelly as it grows in size and destroys the town. But Zombie wants to take it in a new direction though.
He says, “My intention is not to have a big red blobby thing — that’s the first thing I want to change. That gigantic Jello-looking thing might have been scary to audiences in the 1950s, but people would laugh now. I’d been looking to break out of the horror genre, and this really is a science fiction movie about a thing from outer space. I intend to make it scary, and the great thing is I have the freedom once again to take it in any crazy direction I want to.”
Production is set to begin next spring and will reportedly have $30 million in funding.
What do U think? Will U watch???
