YouTuber Tana Mongeau Might Face A Class-Action Lawsuit For The Disaster That Was 'TanaCon'

YouTube star Tana Mongeau is being accused of conning her fans into attending TanaCon, a convention promised to be a premiere digital influencer gathering that got shut down in less than 24 hours and is now being hailed as the “Fyre Festival of YouTube Conventions.”
Fans are now discussing a class-action lawsuit against organizers of the event after ticket holders discovered TanaCon was nothing but one big con job.
It all started when Tana was banned from VidCon, ultimately because she was not dubbed a “major influencer” and was forced to walk the floor with other attendees. At the event, her presence was deemed a security hazard since security couldn’t control her fans.

This inspired Tana to start her own con the same weekend as VidCon. She promised her dedicated fans that at TanaCon, they’d rub elbows with all the YouTube personalities “unwanted” from VidCon and would be treated to a swanky swag bag.
But once fans arrived at the Anaheim Marriott Suites, they were confused to find nothing but an open hallway and concert hall absent of any influencers or personalities. The “swag bag” included cheap accessories and a condom.
Even worse, thousands of other attendees left waiting for hours in the hot sun with no food, water, or shade. The event was shut down in less than a day before TanaCon was ultimately canceled — and people are pissed:

YouTuber Anamarie Olson is gathering defendants for a class-action suit against Good Times, the promoter of the event, and is currently in talks with the same firms involved in lawsuits against Fyre Festival. She believes ticket holders should not only be given complete refunds, but also compensation for “mistreatment during the event.”
Other influencers are upset, too. YouTube titan Shane Dawson said his participation and promotion of the event was the “worst decision I ever made.”

Dawson was so unsettled, he launched a three-part DOCUMENTARY into what exactly went wrong with TanaCon. Like many others, he suggests that TanaCon was one big con job.
Good Times addressed the situation after the convention wrapped, blaming the cancelation on “over fifteen thousand unregistered guests” and Tana for making promises to fans that they were unable to fulfill. The statement read:

According to Dawson’s probe, the ticketing contract makes Good Times responsible for any refunds — meaning company CEO, 21-year-old entrepreneur Michael Weist, has to deal with compensating guests.
We think it’s safe to say there won’t be another TanaCon next year.
