Openly Gay Football Player Michael Sam Drops Bomb: 'I Am Not The Only Gay Person In The NFL'

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayZportzFootballNFLMichael Sam

Michael Sam was the first openly gay football player to be selected in the NFL draft.

That is a huge milestone for the concussion-causing, overly macho sport.

But Sam isn't the only one, according to him! He said:

"I am not the only gay person in the NFL. I'm just saying there is a lot of us. I respect the players that did reach out to me and had the courage to tell me that they were also gay, but they do not have the same courage as I do to come out before I even played a down in the NFL.

Was it a risky move? Yes. But at that moment, the reason why I came out is I thought it wasn't going to be a big deal. Maybe I was naive. Maybe I thought it was 2014, and people will understand that there's gay NFL players. There's gay athletes everywhere. But I was clearly wrong. It was a huge deal.

The players who have reached out to me and told me about their sexual orientation, it just means a lot. But I will never say anything about who they are, what teams they are [on]. I'm just saying there's some famous people, and I'm not the only one."

That's incredible!!

It'd make sense to assume that obviously there'd be a percentage of gay men playing in the NFL but "some famous" players??

Sam makes it seem like even he was shocked at how many players reached out to him.

We hope others can follow his example. It's time to swing wide the closet doors in professional sports and let the fab out!!

It's 2015 people. The time for equality for all is now. Thank goodness for people like Michael, who are willing to take that first, crucial step!

Listen To Little Big Town's New Single Girl Crush HERE Because Some Country Radio Is Too Intolerant To Let You Hear It!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayMusic MinuteSad SadLittle Big Town

Your Reaction?

This is unbelievable, but sadly, it's the way society still works

Little Big Country made a hit single called Girl Crush, that's about a girl who is jealous off her ex's new girlfriend. But the country radio-listening audience refuses to realize that and have demanded the lesbian song be taken off the airwaves.

[ Video: Ariana Grande & Little Big Town Go Day Drinking ]

Ridiculous! There's a line that says:

"I want to taste her lips, yeah cause they taste like you / I want to drown myself in a bottle of her perfume/I want her long blond hair, I want her magic touch / Yeah cause maybe then, you'd want me just as much. . . I got a girl crush."

Boise morning show co-host Alana Lynn has been asked not to play it in the mornings when kids are going to school, or at all, or listeners will boycott the station. But every other country love song is okay… how does that make sense?!

People have accused stations of "promoting the gay agenda" even though, we repeat, this is a song about same sex love. But even if it wasn't, so what!

Miley Cyrus, Hillary Clinton, & More Speak Out Against Indiana's New LGBT Discrimination Law!

Indiana just passed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act after Governor Mike Pence signed it into law, and people are not happy!

Why?

Because the thrust of the new law is that businesses are now legally free to discriminate based on sexual orientation and gender identity as long as they claim their religion is against it.

[ Video: Perez Talking #BoycottDolceGabbana On CNN! ]

But not all businesses want to turn people away based on prejudice. The NCAA and Gen Con have already threatened to lessen their presence or pull out of the state entirely.

Yep, the jocks AND the nerds are against it! LOLz!

But those aren't the only strange bedfellows this deplorable bill is making! Celebs from Miley Cyrus to Hillary Clinton have come out against the law on social media.

Gay Man Beaten In Hate Crime… But His Attacker Was Bisexual?? The FBI Is Stepping In To Sort Things Out

Devin Norman is a 26-year-old gay man who was brutally beaten, simply for being gay.

But now there are conflicting reports. Now, more details are emerging and the FBI is getting involved!!

It all went down in the town of Corinth, Mississippi when James Scott, 23, brutally beat Devin Norman in a Walmart parking lot. That part is not really in dispute. But the 'why' is.

He allegedly came out of nowhere and attacked Devin, screaming homophobic slurs at him and kicking him repeatedly.

Police eventually caught and arrested Mr. Scott, who was charged with simple assault. Due to the serious nature of Norman's wounds, people were outraged the charge wasn't "aggravated assault." It was eventually upgraded from "simple" to "aggravated" after police realized Norman had broken bones.

What upset people the most, though, was that LGBT people have no hate crime protection under Mississippi law. So James Scott was going to get off pretty easy compared to what could've happened.

That's when people in the community

The Governor Of Indiana Just Signed A Religious Freedom Bill That Would Allow Businesses To Discriminate Against The LGBT Community

Lovely.

Despite it being 2015, one Indiana Governor wants to set some civil rights back to the stone ages.

That's because Gov. Mike Pence just signed a bill on Thursday that could allow businesses to discriminate against LGBT individuals under the guise of Religious Freedom.

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act, or SEA 101, would make it so that a company could cite its own religious beliefs as a reason for refusing service to someone based on their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Upon signing the bill, the Republican issued a statement, saying:
