PEREZ! If you see this, i would like you to know this. I am SUCH a big fan of yours, and I in fact read your site MULTIPLE times a day! i agree almost entirely with your opinions, as i feel we are, the majority of the time, alike in what we believe in! However, your take on this persons article as "hilarity" i am a bit confused about. I thought it made a few interesting points. At first i was a little offended for the gay community at its suggestion to "tone down" and perhaps tell people to act not like their usual selves. However, after reading it entirely, I agree with it. The media and television are starting to make "gay" a "hilarity" by making it this character no one can take seriously! Homosexuals desire that "normal" way of life with marriage and equality, but they're more often portrayed as something no one can take seriously based on "abnormal" outlandish mockery's of their situations!.. I think THAT reason is why there have been so many road blocks in America and even else where. Forget your "shout-out", don't you think this article was poignant and well written in your crusade for gay rights?
maybe the so called "post-gay" generation now knows that good is coming and don't feel the need to have to give speeches. maybe they know that change is coming and many fellow peers have their back and support the change for the better that is certainly on its way. equality will soon be here.
love you perez.
Re: sarralovesmusic: This article is far from a crusade for gay rights… it attempts to set the entire community back by stating that the media should pander to the caucasian, heterosexual majority by only portraying overtly masculine gay characters in the media. I say BULLSHIT! This is akin to telling your son that his grandparents won't accept him if he wants to wear a pink t-shirt. I love that I can turn on the TV and see guys like Adam Lambert, Christian Siriano, and Kurt from Glee breaking down traditional gender barriers. They are strong, fierce, and not afraid to be who they are. Now THEY are the true crusaders for the gay community. Try educating yourself a little about the variation of masculinity and femininity among heterosexual AND homosexual males AND females, you may learn a little about the world and human nature in general.
And PS obviously there is a hint of sarcasm in Perez's "hilarity" comment, come on people! I mean the fact that this writer thinks "Perez Hilton" are the two gayest words in the English language is somewhat humorous, but obviously does not know many gay men. Ross Matthews anyone?
That is awesome! LOL! Because you know better than most, that there will always be someone to say SOMETHING … that is good press anyway! I'm glad you are who you want to be! I love my big gay friend!
Seriously? This article angered me. My people, gay people come from all walks of life. There are many of us like the Kurt "character" and many like the "Will" character that you mentioned as just a friend (Hello, he loved show tunes too, just didn't sing them as much as Jack). With more tv on there are more representatives of the differences of gay people. Just like I don't automatically think every straight man is a cheater because the husband on "The Good Wife" cheated or is a wife beater like I see on Cops. This article is dumb.
And it's all 100% true. FINALLY, this has been brought to the public's attention as I've been agreeing with everything written for quite a while now. How can we be taken seriously when there's shit out there (and you, Perez) making us all look as though we're boys wanting desperately to be girls and get fucked by any man who will give it to us?

There's nothing better than free publicity.
If Gaga wouldn't beat me to it, I'd marry the gayest person in the world!
I don't think this is funny at all….where's the "Hilarity" as you called it?
