Dennis Quaid's Newborn Twins Poisoned At Hospital!

This is every parent's nightmare!
Actor Dennis Quaid and his wife, Kimberly Buffington, welcomed fraternal twins (via surrogate) on November 8th.
Unfortunately, those twins - Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace - are now fighting for their lives after an accidental overdose was given at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The newborns were given massive doses of Heparin, a blood thinner. Babies typically get 10 units. Quaid's kids were given 10,000!!!
The drug is used to flush out IV lines and prevent blood clots.
After the accidental overdose on Sunday, both babies started to "bleed out."
Apparently, a technician stored the Heparin in the wrong place so when the nurse grabbed the medicine for the babies without looking it was the wrong dosage.
The infants are now being given Protamine, which reverses the effects of Heparin.
The twins are now at the neo-natal intensive care unit and reportedly in stable condition.

There are tons of kids out there who don't have homes, and these people are so selfish that they have to have kids of their own flesh and blood (even though someone's something won't work) and then the shit hits the fan and they wonder why!

Don't blame the technician!!!!!! Those fukking over paid professionals make more fukkups than the public knows about. That gd nurse should have CHECKED the bottle to make sure she was going to administer the CORRECT medication. Too many fukkups…too many excuses!!!! Fukking morons need to pay ATTENTION to what they're doing. When my mother was in the hosptial she was mistakenly given insulin twice…and she's not even a fukking diabetic!!!! Watch out people…if you wanna die…check yourself into a hospital. They'll be happy to oblige you!!!

it is a very easy mistake to make, but u gotta check every med given at LEAST 3x. most nurses are overworked and patients are assholes,. tho I don't think peds nurses should be too tired since they always have so very few patients….

I am a nurse and I am APPALLED at the "mistake" this nurse did. You check the medication—the dosage, the time, the patient, etc….you check, check, check and check again…you make SURE to get the right med. This nurse cannot use the excuse that the technician put the heparin in the wrong place…it was the nurse's responsibility to check it; not just do it based on what should have been sitting there! OMG—I smell a lawsuit!

You can't even get a fukking bath without having to bitch for one. People go for hours without their pain meds and other life-saving presciptions. Don't make excuses for carelessness. If those gd nurses paid more attention to what they're doing than standing or sitting around having their fukking gossip sessions, there wouldn't be so many mistakes, or so many deaths. I work in the medical field myself, and have many medical professionals as personal friends, and most of them agree with my sentiments on this. Read the fukking label man!!!!! this has happened many times before in the NICU and the makers of heparin and other blood thinners have allegedly changed the covers on the vials………..idiot tech, because there is no reason to have such a concentrated vial of heparin anywhere near babies…………….and really fucking stupid nurse. i am a nurse and i know to check the meds THREE times………and with newborns………..come on! it takes two extra seconds……….I HOPE SHE LOSES HER LICENSE FOR GOOD!

Poor kids!! Last year in Indianapolis something like 10 kids were given too much of the same stuff and a few of them died! its so sad, and unfortuatly not that uncommon!! look it up!! I hope his kids recover and are well!!

I heard a hospital president in NC tsay that the same thing had happened at his hospital a few years ago b/c the bottles look very, very similar. The process of storing/labeling drugs at Cedars Sanai needs improving!!!!

The most dangerous place to be is a HOSPITAL! It is shocking that in the US over 600,000 people DIE every year die due to infections, overdoses or some other error made by hospital staff. many errors and general staff fuckups go unreported. This shit happens all the time -by since it is happening to a minor celebrity we are hearing about it.
