What a birthday present!

Yesterday, Dolly Parton turned 66 and she unveiled a present that everyone can share.

The music legend is launching plans to build a $50 million water-snow theme park! Dolly opened up her first theme park, Dollywood, in 1986 and added a water park next to it in 2001.

Dolly Parton Writing Her Life Story…As A Broadway Musical!

dolly parton writing a broadway musical

Dolly is on a roll lately!

Last week, we saw the trailer for Dolly Parton's upcoming movie Joyful Noise, which hits theaters this January!

Now, Dolly has announced that she's writing her life story, in hopes of sharing it with the world as a BROADWAY MUSICAL!

Here's what she had to say about it:

"I'm writing my life story as a musical for Broadway. I probably won’t be in it but I’ll find a way to introduce it somehow, maybe the older me."

"9 to 5 didn’t make it on Broadway but it didn’t sour me. I learned all this stuff from it."

Not only that, but Dolly has ALSO spoken about the possibility of bringing Joyful Noise to Broadway:

"Joyful Noise would make a great Broadway show so maybe I’ll write music for that!"

We love the ambition, Dolly, and we'll DEFINITELY check out UR autobiographical musical when it hits the stage!

Good Luck!!!!!

Steel Magnolias To Be Remade With All-Black Cast

steel-magnolias-to-be-remade.jpg

This is an interesting twist.

Lifetime will be remaking Steel Magnolias (the 1989 movie starring Sally Field, Dolly Parton and Julia Roberts) and will be giving the movie an all-black cast.

Kenny Leon, the director of the 2008 ABC movie A Raisin in the Sun, will be directing this version in which the movie will be set in Louisiana and will be set among a group of women in present day.

The 1989 version is pretty flawless so it will be hard to remake such a classic.

We wish them all the luck though!
