One of our favorite things we do all month is view all the submissions for our "Can YOU Sing?" cover competition!
And this month was especially pleasurable because we chose Jason Mraz's new single, I Won't Give Up, and that song is so exquisite! We can't get enough!
And we also can't stop listening to The Lorentzen's cover! They are the very worthy winners!!! Our favorite entry - by far!
Check out their Lady Antebellum meets church take on the song (above)! SOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!
Second place goes to Anna Palmerola! Her version is very lovely AND she did something no one has ever done in our "Can YOU Sing?" cover competition before!
Anna made the song her own with not just her beautiful arrangement, but she also flipped the song and turned into on a Spanglish tune by adding her own lyrics in Spanish! So smart! So effective!
Check out Anna's version of I Won't Give Up below. And….

For the past four months Jason Mraz has been strictly eating only vegan.
And the results are amazing.
He wrote on his blog:
"I've also been on a pretty strict plant-based diet for 4 months now – feeling stronger, fitter, healthier and more productive.
I ride longer distances on my bike, can do more pull-ups than ever, and my brain seems to have a larger capacity for new projects, problem solving, songwriting, and fielding random questions.
My health and strength make me a better performer and all that combined gives me more confidence to go out in the world and shine my light. It also makes me a lot better in bed. Just sayin…"
Wow. So all you gotta do is go vegan and you'll basically become a superman.
Super strength and super loving making? Sign us up!
You certainly brought the good to the City of Angels, girl!
Earlier in the week, Taylor Swift was joined on stage at the Staples Center by Justin Bieber to sing a duet of his smash hit, Baby. Last night, Swifty had a different handsome devil join her onstage - Jason Mraz!
The pair sang the sweetest duet of his jam, I'm Yours, which you can now enjoy in the video (above)!
Six months after they announced they were going to get married, Jason Mraz and Tristan Prettyman have called off their engagement. The couple seemed to have it all figured out back when Jason proposed on Christmas eve, but he confesses that their love has been sacrificed for his art. He explains:
Wow. We're not really sure what that means exactly, but it sounds bittersweet none-the-less.
We're sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you two, but hopefully you guys can still be friends or something.
Also, when we read that part about the halves not making a whole, for some reason we started singing Life is Wonderful in our head. Not really apropos, but it came up!
In light of the audio recording released yesterday that featured Criss Angel threatening to knock out one of his producers, the illusionist's attorney, Ken Woloson, has released the following statement:
"Criss Angel was in the process of firing Joe Safuto on Wednesday when Safuto became abusive and Criss asked him to leave. Criss decided to fire Safuto in response to repeated complaints from co-workers and other magicians about Safuto's abusive and violent behavior and general ineptitude. Witnesses have attested that there was no physical contact and that Safuto very clearly was the antagonist. The audio released to the media is a snippet of a much longer conversation. We are exploring legal action against Mr. Safuto, including for his defamatory and illegal conduct."
Ouch! Sounds like he means business!
Give the clip a listen again (above)!
It DOES certainly sound like Angel was provoked! But enough to respond like he does?
