Back in January, we were excited to learn that Judd Apatow was innerested in possibly directing the upcoming Pee-wee Herman movie!

Now, Pee-Wee actor Paul Reubens has given us an update on the project, and we're pleased to hear that Apatow is still involved!

Here's what Reubens had to say about it:

Check out the photo (above) of Pee-Wee Herman's new ad for the Tonys, which seems pret-ty similar to Melissa Leo's Oscars ad that landed her the Best Supporting Actress award for The Fighter!

Last we heard from Pee-Wee Herman, we thought he and Jake Gyllenhaal were absolutely ADORABLE when they helped each other promote their new projects.

Now, it looks like Pee-Wee's getting even more promotion time for his upcoming HBO Special The Pee-Wee Herman Show On Broadway!

Check out the video (above) of Pee-Wee talking about his HBO special, as well as his upcoming movie, which is being produced by Judd Apatow!

Sounds like a recipe for success to us!

We still can't get over how CUTE Pee-Wee and Jake are together…makes us smile every time!

As far as promotions go, this is such an adorable and clever way to do it!
