One of our nearest and dearest had an "icons"-themed birthday party, where you had to dress up as a memorable character from TV or film.

We went as Sue Sylvester and our friend Micah went as Belle (aka Bonjour Girl)!

A VERY FUN time was had by all!

Goodbye India!

img_0798.jpg img_0839-copy.jpg

Day 13 was our last in India, and we can easily say….

This has been THE BEST trip we have ever taken!!!!

Everything about India has been magical and majestic. Those are the two best words to describe our experience here.

This is a country so rich in history, which we love. And, much like Egypt, a lot of that history and awe-inspiring architecture has been preserved.

We've gotten to witness some of the most beautiful sights in the world, eat some of the yummiest food we've ever had, stay at some of the best hotels anywhere and just soak it all in! Plus the people are just as awesome as the country!

On our last day in India, we explored some of the major sights of Dehli. We visited the Jama Masjid, the oldest mosque in India. Built in 1658, it can accommodate 25,000 people! Though the population is overwhelmingly Hindu in India, in Dehli Muslims are about 20%.

We took a pedicab ride through Old Dehli, which was like something out of a movie!

And we also visited the complex of Qutub Minar, a tower of victory begun by the Muslims way back in 1193 - and completed in 1368 - to commemorate their rule over Hindu India at the time. It is by far the oldest structure we've seen in the country. And one of the most impressive!

This truly has been THE BEST trip!!!! Soooooo happy we came here! And we can't encourage you enough to come and visit! We have fallen in love with India! Hard!

We are definitely coming back! There's still so much of the country we haven't seen! Plenty left to explore!!

Our Journey Across India Is Coming To An End

img_0773.jpg img_0769.jpg

It's starting to get bittersweet!

We only have one full day left in India!!!!

On Day 12 of our adventures throughout this amazing country, we made it from Agra to New Delhi.

We spent most of the day in transit, but we did manage to walk around our hotel a bit and visit the Tomb of Humayun. Built in the 16th century, the tomb is a fine example of early Mughal architecture. The basic structure of the Tomb of Humayun served as a model for the Taj Mahal in Agra - a dome within a dome surrounded by vast gardens and water channels.

Whereas the Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahn for his wife, the tomb of Humayun was built by his senior wife.

Though we are sad to be ending our trip to India, we are looking forward to going home and ROCKING 2012 hard!!!!!

India's Crown Jewel!

img_0740.jpg img_0696.jpg

We made it!!!!

On Day 11 of our epic exploration of India, we spent a majestic afternoon in the stunning Taj Mahal. And it is just as amazing as you would expect!

Huge. Harmonious. Historic.

Truly one of the most special places we've ever been to!

Momma Perez and us felt so lucky to be there! As you could probably tell! We were beaming! Plus, we took so many pics! Ha

We also visited the equally historic Agra Fort, which ironically was ultimately used as a prison to house Shah Jahan, the builder of the Taj Mahal. His own son locked him up and declared himself king because he thought dad was wasting too much of the empire's money on construction!

What a magical day!

India is a MUST for everyone to visit!!!!
