Janie was brought to a shelter in LA as a stray on April 14th, having had been run over by a car and was seriously injured.

How do they know? She literally had a tire track across her back! She was scared and in pain, reluctant to let anyone help.

SO many people wanted to! The only problem is that she had a microchip, meaning the owners had 10 days to claim her before she could legally be rescued OR adopted, so the staff called the owners and even went to the registered address! NOBODY WANTED THIS CUTE PUPPY!

The loving and amazing staff had money pledged in case Janie needed surgery, but there was no foster home for her. They bent over backwards to find her one!

Against the odds, Janie was given a chance at a happy life, thanks to the dedication of the shelter's employees, as well as several concerned animal welfare workers. This was just some random dog, and the kindness of strangers saved her life — and gave her a new, comfortable one to boot!

It's stories like the one (above & below) that make us SO happy!

This is just awful!!

A woman was jogging through a neighborhood in Littlerock, California, just trying to get some exercise and extend her life.

Well in a tragic turn of events, that life was cut short when she was ATTACKED by a pack of dogs.

The pit bulls and mixed breeds were apparently known to be aggressive and have been found and taken from their home.

A police spokesman said:

Uh oh! Watch out chef Gordon Ramsay, PETA is coming for you!!

Chef Ramsay is in the hot seat after an undercover video exposed some serious animal cruelty at a foie gras factory which supplies one of his restaurants.

Emily Deschanel is a kind and caring person!

She's also a mother, so she cares deeply about other mothers, even animal ones.

Also an animal lover and vegan, Emily cannot stand how dairy cows are kept constantly pregnant, forced to produce up to four times as much milk as they naturally would and have their calves torn away from them.

These poor animals suffer just so we can have cheese, or a glass of milk, which some studies have shown to cause acne, breast/prostate cancer and even type 1 diabetes.

So join Emily in rejecting cruel dairy foods by trying vegan alternatives!!

This is so sad!

A five week old kitten was doused in gasoline before it was set on fire in what authorities are calling a prank gone wrong!

But somehow the kitten named Justin has gotten remarkably healthier since then and is even playing with its vets!

But the kitten still needs a lot of help and the medical bills are piling up!

This is absolutely heartbreaking.

A cute little koala bear made his way back to his home in New South Wales, Australia.

But once he got there… it was all gone.

The area had been cut down and chipped by logging operations.

A volunteer from a rescue operation licensed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service called WIRES snapped a pic (above).

The most heart wrenching part?

Captain Phil Harris was one of the stars of Discovery's Deadliest Catch.

He was captain of the Cornelia Marie, where he fished with his sons Josh and Jake Harris.

Phil's death was documented on the show after he suffered a stroke on air.

Captain Phil was a man living on borrowed time.

His life was built around drugs, sex and violence.
