Quote Of The Day.

quote-of-the-day-lady-gaga-justin-timberlake

"Okay, let’s talk about Lady GaGa for a minute. She’s a force. Beyond awesome. I mean, she’s legitimately talented. I’d love to see her come out with another record a couple of years from now that’s completely different, maybe something Tori Amos could do."

It's the end of the school year and boy, the children of the PS 22 Chorus had quite the year!

In honor of Tori Amos' new album Night of the Hunters, the chorus did a moving version of the Tori classic Pretty Good Year.

Absolutely gorgeous.

And wait for Alicea's solo! She can sure belt it out!

Yes! Tori Amos Announces New Album And Tour Dates!

Oh man, are we excited for this or WHAT?!

Gurl sounds as though she is pulling out all the stops for this one!

Tori Amos announced today that her new album, which will mark her first release through the classical music record label Deutsche Grammophon, will be called Night of Hunters, and each track will not only follow a specific story, but also take inspiration from classical elements fused together with her original material!

She explains:

“I have used the structure of a classical song cycle to tell an ongoing, modern story. The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter. One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us.”

Fascinating! We just LOVE how she's constantly exploring different facets of herself through her music!

The album will be released in September of 2011, and will be supported by a just-announced tour sharing the same name as the album, which will kick off in Helsinki on September 28th!

Oh, hell no! We are NOT missing this one!

So excited!

Sources reveal that the singer plans on hitting up dates in Europe during the month of October, and North America in November!

Amazing!

We are dire need of some Tori, and the sooner she's straddling that bench and playing two pianos at once, the better!

Oh man. This sounds PERFECT for her!

Tori Amos can now reportedly add playwright to her list of accomplishments, as she's behind a new musical set to be staged by Britain's National Theatre!

The piece is allegedly based on the 19th century fairy tale The Light Princess, written by George McDonald, and Amos has written all of the music and lyrics for the reinterpretation, set to debut in early 2012!

Amazing! We just know that this is going to be stunning!

But as much as we're excited for this, bb, we hope you have a new album in the works!

We're in dire need of new Tori!

Tori vs. GaGa: Meow!

torigaga.jpg

We hope this is just a case of the British media making up quotes!

According to The Sun, Tori Amos believes that Lady Gaga's popularity is fleeting, as she doesn't see the pop star playing on the same bill as veteran rocker Neil Young in twenty years.

Oh, really???!!!

You know how many people said things like that about Madonna when she first started? Look at HER now!

"[GaGa] She's what I call a meteor - singers who entertain people for a while. Hey, there's nothing wrong with that," Amos reportedly told the paper. "But then there are people like Neil Young who show up at Glastonbury 40 years into their career. And that's a very different kind of artist."

Tori thinks that the economic crisis is the reason for GaGa's rising popularity!

"The question is, will Lady GaGa be playing alongside Neil Young at Glastonbury in 20 years time?" she continued. "She wants to entertain people. Right now, half the world is depressed and they need to be entertained. So her timing's perfect."

Uhmmm, okay.

Now that's just silly speak!

P.S. GaGa performed at Glastobury this year. Tori Amos, she did not!
