It's been a whirlwind week as news broke of Mel B and Stephen Belafonte's split after 10 years of marriage.
Despite a happy social media appearance, the songstress filed court documents on December 28 citing "irreconcilable differences" and asking for joint custody of the couple's daughter, Madison Brown Belafonte.
With reports swirling of Stephen turning to alcohol and the former Spice Girl not wanting to give any spousal support, things certainly seem a little testy right now between the two.
On Wednesday, TMZ reports the couple reached some common ground as they attended a family therapy session with their three children – Pheonix and Angel (from Mel's previous relationships), and Madison — at the home of Dr. Charles Sophy, Mel's longtime psychiatrist.
Sources close to the stars say this was done in effort to make sure the kids are doing alright amid the public breakup.

Scarlett Johansson has undoubtedly worked hard to get to where she is in her career — and she's not about to be career-shamed by her estranged husband, Romain Dauriac!
As you know, the couple is in the midst of a messy divorce as they try to figure out custody of their two-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy.
In a recent statement released by Romain's lawyers, the French journalist claimed to have not only been blindsided by the actress' filing, but that he was also "tired" of bringing the toddler to various movie sets:
"Mr. Dauriac is tired of having to run his life and his child's life based on Ms. Johansson's shooting schedule."
That's kinda what you signed up for, buddy! But we digress…
On Thursday, the 32-year-old appeared on the talk show Lorraine via satellite — where she seemingly made a jab at her ex while expressing how important it is for her to have her daughter see her in action:
Beyoncé has a heart of gold!
On Wednesday, Queen Bey made one fan's day when she called her up on FaceTime for a quick chat. This video call was pretty special because the fan, named Ebony Banks, has been battling a rare form of stage four cancer. The pregnant music legend will really do anything to make her fans smile!
Apparently, Miz Banks has spent most of her senior year bed ridden in the hospital and her one wish was to meet the Formation singer. Thankfully, Ebony's peers at Alief Hastings High School decided to help make her dream come true as they started a social media campaign to get the A-lister's attention.
One senior, named Shanya McKnight, told KHOU:
Have no fear! Captain Underpants is here! (Or at least he will be on June 2.)
Based on the beloved book series (which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year!), Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie follows grade school pals George and Harold, who let their predilection for pranks get out of hand when they hypnotize their principal into becoming a superhero.
If you think that's nuts, just wait until he's actually needed to stop a supervillain!
Bringing the Dav Pilkey characters to life are Ed Helms, Kevin Hart, and Silicon Valley star Thomas Middleditch, with a supporting cast that includes the hilarious voices of Jordan Peele, Kristen Schaal, and Nick Kroll.
