Zachary Quinto Responds To George Takei's Disappointment About Sulu Being Gay In Star Trek Beyond! Quote Of The Day!

no title

"As a member of the LGBT community myself, I was disappointed by the fact that George was disappointed… I get it. He has had his own personal journey and has his own personal relationship with this character but, you know, as we established in the first Star Trek film in 2009, we've created an alternate universe, and my hope is that eventually George can be strengthened by the enormously positive response from especially young people who are heartened by and inspired by this really tasteful and beautiful portrayal of something that I think is gaining acceptance and inclusion in our societies across the world, and should be."

- Zachary Quinto's response to George Takei saying that Sulu being gay in the upcoming film Star Trek Beyond was "really unfortunate."

Some of our favorite Disney films undergo major changes during the animation process — and after watching this deleted scene from Zootopia, it's clear these tweaks are usually for the better!

Before it was a billion dollar hit, the animated film had a much different set up.

Not only was Nick the main character instead of Judy, but the animal world had a much more inhumane way of handling the divide between predator and prey…

In the finished version, the predators have evolved to naturally be obedient around animals they'd usually eat.

But as evidenced by this deleted scene, earlier versions of the film contained a more depressing take on how the distinction was handled in the fictional animal culture.

Watch the scene (below) to see things take a dark turn when Nick and Judy are trying to escape a "taming party."

Dave Franco Is Going Gay — In Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising! See Why The Director Wanted The Frat Bro To Come Out In The Sequel!

Dave Franco played your stereotypical frat bro in the 2014 comedy Neighbors.

Not only did his character Pete chug beers and perform quite the penis party trick, he got revenge on best bro Teddy (Zac Efron) by having sex with his girlfriend!

But in the upcoming Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, the Delta Psi alum's return could be the biggest twist in the film — because he's now in a relationship with another man!

This might seem like a surprising turn for the brotastic sequel, but director Nicholas Stoller says he's been wanting to evolve Pete's sexuality for quite some time.

In an interview with Yahoo! Movies, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall filmmaker explained he was inspired by the bromance between Pete and Teddy in the original film — particularly when Pete says "I love you" to his friend after Teddy takes the blame for a firework-wrecked party house.

He explained:

"Clearly, we're playing with the homoerotic tension there, and I was like, 'He should just be gay,' Then in this one, it came up again. [Co-writer] Evan Goldberg brought it up, and he said, 'I think he should be gay, and part of [his arc] should be the proposal.' It was kind of all of us coming to the same conclusion."

So not only is Franco's character gay, but he's about to get married to his one true bro (played by
