Jersey Shore's Deena Cries Over Furniture In Final Season Premiere

Filed under: TV NewsMTVSilly!SnookiThe SituationReality TV

The sixth and final season of MTV's Jersey Shore premiered last night and it proved that the producers made a good decision to end it here.

Since Snooki has abandoned the party scene in favor of being a responsible mother and The Situation is still partying completely sober, the drama seems to be fading away…

So much so that Deena had to have an emotional breakdown at the bar over furniture (above).

The furniture her boyfriend sells, to be exact.

It all started when

Fish Tips: What To Do If You Go Out Of Town

Chris from Aquatic Central is back with some more great fish tips.

This holiday season, some people may be asking:

What can we do if we're going out of town for the holidays?

Well, Chris has your answer:

Ideally you will never leave your fish tank for more than 2 days; just kidding. This really should be no problem. Every system should be more or less predictable in it's upkeep.

That is, you should know exactly what it needs and at what frequency. The best way to figure out how to fine tune your husbandry regimen is to take notes and monitor your system. This way, when the times comes that are not around to care for the tank, you may impart some of the knowledge you have acquired on to some lesser being who is not yet an aquarist.

The simplest and best approach to doing this is to make very clear and detailed instructions and to assume that the person doing the work knows absolutely nothing about aquariums.

So just make sure to have some easy to follow instructions to leave your fish-sitter and everyone will be happy.

Especially your fishies!

Fish Tips From Aquatic Central

Fish

Fish guru, Chris at Aquatic Central, has some tips for when you're deciding to get a fish.

"This is the first and most important question anyone wishing to get a fish, or any other pet, should be asking themselves. And that should be followed with the question, "what is it going to take to keep this pet healthy and happy".

The number one biggest reason not to get a fish is, because you won it in a fair.

Great reasons to go and get a fish are because it is relaxing, engaging, educational, and keeping you from staring at a monitor or screen. It also teaches kids, and adults alike, to be compassionate, caring, and responsible."

So what are you waiting for, people? Go out and get a fish!

Skins Causes Child Pornography Controversy!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooTV NewsMTVLegal Matters

skins-causes-child-pornography-controversy

Yet another reason why this show should have never been re-made for American audiences.

Now that the US adaptation of the hit British series Skins has debuted on MTV, the network bosses are reportedly concerned that some of explicit content involving the teenaged actors could be breaking the country's child pornography laws, which is described in the states as any "visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct," or an images of nude children if it is "significantly sexually suggestive."

In a future episode, the character of Chris, played by 17-year-old Jesse Carere, is depicted running down the street naked, and features a story about him taking erectile dysfunction meds, and the bosses at the network are apparently so concerned that they held an emergency meeting Tuesday to discuss the issue with the show's producers.

Meanwhile, spokesperson Jeannie Kedas says:

"Skins is a show that addresses real-world issues confronting teens in a frank way. We review all of our shows and work with all of our producers on an ongoing basis to ensure our shows comply with laws and community standards. We are confident that the episodes of Skins will not only comply with all applicable legal requirements, but also with our responsibilities to our viewers."

This is EXACTLY what we were so concerned about!

The premiere episode essentially took the original and remade it shot for shot, didn't even bother to ADAPT the British slang, style, OR school system - all of which was just forced and awkward - and then watered down the stuff that they legally couldn't show on TV here.

And we're not going to even START on the swears being bleeped out.

Just mortifying to sit through.

If they want to make this authentic, honest, and RELEVANT to American teens, then they need to just ignore the original series and put the characters in realistic situations that make them culturally relatable.

Who cares about the nudity? If you can't show it here, then don't.

Focus instead on just making it GOOD.

Thoughts?? What did U think of the series premiere of Skins??
