The Granite City School Board in Illinois has denied a student's request to wear a kilt made out of his family’s tartan to prom.

Their reasoning?

The kilt "is nontraditional and don’t fit into the district’s dress code".

Lame!

We don't see what's the big deal about wearing the kilt, especially if it's apart of the student's heritage.

An employee at Vera Wang is saying there's no way the designer would have turned down an opportunity to have her designs on daytime TV.

As we mentioned on Wednesday, General Hospital's Nancy Lee Grahn blasted the designer on Twitter after Mary Iannelli, head of the show's wardrobe department, was turned away from the store.

The anonymous source thinks Wang's PR team would "love the exposure" and turning down a sale would be "very strange", but Iannelli is sticking by her story.

Yves Saint Laurent has come out victorious in the battle of the red outsoles!

On Wednesday, a judge denied Christian Louboutin's request for a preliminary injunction against YSL because he thinks Louboutin would have a hard time proving why his shoes deserve trademark protection.

Judge Victor Marrero wrote in his ruling:

"Because in the fashion industry color serves ornamental and aesthetic functions vital to robust competition, the court finds that Louboutin is unlikely to be able to prove that its red outsole brand is entitled to trademark protection, even if it has gained enough public recognition in the market to have acquired secondary meaning."

He has a point there. Trademarking a color is kinda ridiculous.

The supermodel was seen arguing with a security guard to let her through on Sunday, but he wasn't having it.

Model and Project Runway Australia hostess Megan Gale is flat out denying she had an affair with former Australian Football League Hall of Famer and coach James Hird.

While attending the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival on Monday night, Megan said it's kind of hard to have an affair when she's never even met the guy.

Megan went on to add: "Things do tend to spread a bit quicker than they used to. But what can you do about it?"

Ouch!

Kanye West's ego really took a beating while he was in Paris for fashion week.

The fashion lover showed up to Balmain and Alexander McQueen with his entourage and got denied both times.

An organizer from KCD, the PR company who produced the shows, told the NY Post:

"Mr. West requested to attend [Balmain] and we let him know we would not be able to accommodate him. He chose to come to the door anyway and we kindly let him know we could not accommodate him."

However, Kanye was a little more successful at McQueen. After he was turned away at the front door, West was able to sneak in a side entrance.

Kind of a douchey move if you ask us.

Madonna may have designed a collection from H&M, but that doesn't mean anything to them!

Rumor has it Madge has contacted the fast fashion retailer to borrow pieces from the newly unveiled Lanvin collection and they flat out told her no.

Harsh!

It's also being reported that Jennifer Lopez asked to borrow pieces as well and got the same answer.

Whether or not this is true, we find it kind of odd that either of them would be calling H&M when Jennifer is with Gucci and Madge with Dolce & Gabbana.

Just sayin'.
