This Early Footage Of Chris Farley Voicing Shrek From 1997 Will Make You Question Everything! Watch Here!

no title

Chris Farley's last official movie credit is 1998's Western comedy Almost Heroes with Matthew Perry. But the late comedy legend was working on another role at the time of his death, which would be one of the most recognizable animated characters of all time.

The Saturday Night Live alum was originally cast as everyone's favorite green ogre in the 2001 animated film Shrek before he died of a drug overdose in 1997.

But the funny man's version of the titular character would have been very different than the one we're familiar with! Kevin Farley, who is executive producer of the new documentary I am Chris Farley, said:

"Originally the Shrek character was a little bit more like Chris, like a humble, bumbling innocent guy."

The lead role of the DreamWorks fairytale comedy ultimately went to Farley's SNL co-star Mike Myers, who gave the ogre a Scottish accent and a bigger attitude. But the Farley family isn't bitter that the studio recast the role. Kevin explains:

"I understand why [they replaced him]. The studio needed to do what they needed to do. It was a bad time, bad timing… a tragedy. Mike did a great job with Shrek. He knocked it out of the park."

For the first two Kung Fu Panda movies, we believed that Jack Black's character Po was the last surviving Panda.

But we were wrong! The third installment of the hit animated franchise follows the clumsy bear protagonist after he has a chance run in with his estranged biological father Li, voiced by Bryan Cranston!

Li brings Po back to a secret panda village where the population has been in hiding, where meets a bunch of brand new characters — including an aspiring ribbon dancer panda Mei Mei voiced by the very funny Rebel Wilson!

Rihanna Phones It In As She Phones Home At The Premiere Of Her New Animated Movie

Rihanna, phone a stylist.

The 27-year-old may be starring in her first animated feature, but we wish she wouldn't sacrifice her fashion sense to get into voice work.

Rihanna wore a Dior dress on the Home purple carpet on Sunday afternoon, but we're just not loving it.

Normally, we'd be all about the asymmetrical detailing, but the wrinkling on the bottom half of the gown really draws our eyes in a bad way.

DreamWorks Animation Lays Off A LOT Of People! Studio Cuts 500 Jobs!

no title

This sucks for these people and their families.

DreamWorks Animation will be axing an estimated 500 jobs from everywhere inside the studio, and the reason why is because Jeffrey Katzenberg says so!

Just kidding… sort of.

The company has had a bad couple of disappointments at the box office recently and because of that the studio wants to only make two films per year instead of the three that they've been doing.
