Congrats! Zoo Miami Celebrates Birth Of First Ever Lion Cubs!

Baby lion cubs born at Zoo Miami for first time EVER!!

Time to pop a bottle because for the first time in Zoo Miami's 33-year history, the birth of lion cubs is being celebrated!!

On September 24th, thee baby cubs were born in a special "off-exhibit" den.

The cubs were watched closely via camera for several days as the new mama took care of her babies.

Zoo staff was eventually allowed by the mother to take the babies in for a neonatal examination.

The staff found the sex of the cubs, their weight and their overall health.

They're two males and female and they're all in excellent health!!

After three months of intense baby cuteness, they'll join the rest of the lions in the public exhibit. We can't wait!

Can't wait to see these little cuties roaming around!

Newborn Lion Cubs Get Their First Checkup!

Newborn lion cubs are super cute!!

Ahhh! Newborn anythings are cute, but when it's newborn lions??

Stop the presses! Let's pet these pretty kitties while they're still too weak to destroy our faces.

A 6-year-old African Lion named Neka gave birth to three cubs at the Oregon Zoo back on September 7th.

The three babes are insanely cute and finally just got their first examination a week ago!

The three cubs are all girls and they're healthy and gorgeous, though one of the cubs needed some supplemental food because she wasn't nursing overnight!

Neka and her cubs are off exhibit at the moment, so they can bond and grow strong together.

One of the zoo keepers said:

"We will continue to take a hands-off approach as much as possible. But we'll be watching them closely over the next several weeks to assess their development."

That sounds like a plan! Watch them cubbies!!

Let's hope they're happy and healthy and super cute forever!

Check out a video of the pretty kitties AFTER THE JUMP!!

Newborn Baby Mole Rat Is SUPER Adorbz! Yes, Really!

A newborn baby mole rat is super adorbz!!

Peoria Zoo in Illinois has welcomed its first surviving second generation Giant Zambian Mole-rat pup!

The little cutie was born back on June 22nd and has been growing rapidly.

The mole ratty has the most adorbz front teeth sticking out of his mouth!

It's so cute! But they're also functional, they are used for excavating their burrows by biting away the soil.

The Peoria Zoo is actually the first zoo in the U.S. to exhibit Giant Zambian Mole-rats.

They've been working to find a technique to ensure breeding success in the species, since they're not that easy to get to breed.

This little pup's mama was the first offspring to ever survive being born at the Peoria Zoo.

So glad this little cutie survived!!

So AH-mazing they're doing their part to help save an endangered species!

Sadly, the cutie little cubs won't be on exhibit until later this year.

Cutie Penguins March Through SF Zoo On Their Way Home!

It's the march of the penguins!!

Five little cutie penguins were marched through the San Francisco Zoo on their way back to being reunited with their colony.

The young penguins were hatched on penguin island, and lived there about 4-5 weeks with their parents.

Then they went off exhibit, being raised by zoo keepers and were only exposed to water just about a week ago for the first time ever!

They were given their first swimming lesson in a small pool, about 400 gallons.

Now, they're going home to their real enclosure and a 120,000 gallon pool!

This is their first time back on exhibit with all the other penguins! We're so glad they're going home!

Check out the video (above) to see the cuties march their way back home!
