Ronnie Williams, a man who starved 34 greyhounds to death, has been sentenced to the maximum allowable time in prison… five years!

Though we wish he could be put away for longer, this is a great victory to have this monster off the streets for half a decade.

PETA had been pushing for the maximum sentence when he pled guilty to 39 felony counts of cruelty to animals.

He starved the 34 greyhounds to death and five other dogs were found barely alive.

As if the cruel "sport" of greyhound racing wasn't torture enough already.

We're just glad that the sick dog killer is being made an example of.

Another victory for PETA!

SRSLY! This was an actual NEWS story!

Yesterday Nashville's WKRN nightly news reported that the interstate was closed due to pesky "Bull Semen." HA!

Apparently the highway was shut down when canisters filled with the bull gizzle fell out of a Greyhound bus (wtf) and onto the road. Next time they better keep a tighter grip on their load. LOLZ!!

We are so proud of the reporter for keeping a straight face during this broadcast!

English model Twiggy Lawson is urging anybody thinking about adopting a dog to consider adopting a greyhound, saying:

"Greyhounds make fantastic pets. They undergo a transformation when they leave the track. They turn from speed machines to docile couch potatoes. I am devastated to hear about the Trust's struggle. I would urge anyone who is considering a dog to think greyhounds."

The 61-year-old model has lent her support to the Retired Greyhound Trust, whose figures have taken a dive in the last year with 1,000 greyhounds currently living in their kennels.

All Lindsanity jokes aside, this is really awful.

In the UK, Racing Greyhound Droopys Arshavin tested positive for cocaine following a Wimbledon match on August 3.

Droopys' trainer, Stuart Mason, is being charged by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain for giving him cocaine, presumably to enhance his performance.

Terrible! We hope Droopys' trainer gets punished properly for abusing his poor animal!
