Jason Alexander Claims That He Actually Discovered Taylor Swift Back In 2007…

We don't know if we believe this…

Taylor Swift may not be 100% country anymore, but that doesn't mean she doesn't owe her fame to her original southern twang!

Tay Tay first made a name for herself back in 2006 with her debut single Tim Megraw, but now one celebrity is claiming that he actually first discovered the 25-year-old.

While we were under the assumption that Scott Borchetta found and signed Taylor, Jason Alexander recently revealed that he put T-Swift on the map when he cast her in one of his music videos!

Jason apparently starred in and directed Brad Paisley's 2007 hit Online and put Taylor and Kellie Pickler in the vid as extras.

Since Taylor already had a radio-friendly track on her hands by that point, we think she was well on her way to super-stardom… but the publicity couldn't have hurt!

Ch-ch-check out Taylor play backup to Brad and Jason (below)!!!
