Dick Trickle was a legend in the NASCAR community, and he was recently found dead a cemetery from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. While he DID leave a note, the contents have not made public — so there's no way of knowing why he did what he did.
His brother, though, believes Dick took his own life because he couldn't

This is just awful news for the world, especially for the NASCAR community who knew him well.
Legendary driver Dick Trickle, who even used to smoke cigarettes while racing because he was so good, has passed away due to an apparent suicide. He DID leave a note at the scene of his death.
Sources say that Dick had been sick for a while and depressed. Authorities in North Carolina say he shot himself at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincoln County — and they even received a call before his death saying they would find his dead body there. He was found next to his pickup.
We have word that his body has been removed from the scene and taken to a nearby hospital.
Such a sad day for racing, and our hearts go out to his friends and family.

Such a sad piece of news we have to share with you all.
The Olympic sailor Andrew Simpson has died, drowning after his America's Cup boat capsized.
He won an Olympic gold medal in sailing in 2008 and a silver at last year's games. This year he absolutely jumped at the chance to win yachting's top prize – the America's Cup.
He drowned when the high-tech catamaran capsized and trapped him under water for more than 10 minutes — and it was only a practice run. Sadly, he has a wife and an infant child.
We offer our condolences, and hope that his friends and family can get through this! Our hearts go out to you all!

Pat Summerall was a legendary NFL announcer for many decades, but he died today of cardiac arrest.
After playing as a pro himself for nearly a decade, Pat joined the CBS broadcast team in 1964 and quickly became a legend!
He most famously worked for years in tandem with John Madden — the iconic pair called many memorable football games together!
In a statement, John said:
"Pat was my broadcasting partner for a long time, but more than that he was my friend for all of these years. Pat Summerall is the voice of football and always will be."
Aww!!

The Dallas Mavericks owner said:
"Jerry Buss was the guy I looked up to in the NBA. When I got into the NBA he was the one guy who told me don't worry about what other people are saying. Just stay true to yourself. Believe in what you're doing and good things will happen. The NBA will definitely miss him. I'll miss him."
We're all gonna MISS him!
Buss passed at the age of 80 from cancer.
