Leave it to Whoopi Goldberg to be the voice of reason.
Yesterday, the ladies of The View took time during their Hot Topics panel to discuss the use of slavery in a math question for 3rd graders! The story out of Georgie BLEW up in the news this week as the school's acceptance of such racist practices has fueled a lot of anger from parents, students and people nationwide.
Take a look at the video above to see what the ladies had to say about this issue.
Side note - Joy Behar should totally go back to teaching English! LOL!

The internet and computer giant DOES still have a heart! Google just donated $11.5 million to help combat modern day slavery!
Shockingly and sadly, slavery is still a huge problem and it affects more than 27 million people around the world. This would make it the largest corporate grant ever in the fight devoted to the advocacy, intervention and rescue of people being held, forced to work or provide sex against their will:
"Many people are surprised to learn there are more people trapped in slavery today than any time in history. The good news is that there are solutions. Each year we focus some of our annual giving on meeting direct human need. Google chose to spotlight the issue of slavery this year because there is nothing more fundamental than freedom."
Of the main groups picked to be helped with donations, we have: <

Teddy has been so upset ever since he heard about this one…
According to a new lawsuit filed by PETA, three marine-mammal experts, and two former orca trainer, SeaWorld is enslaving five wild-caught orcas and forcing them to perform.
As the thirteenth amendment clearly states, slavery is prohibited in the United States. And while this may be the first case dealing with the slavery of nonhuman mammals, the plaintiffs are resting assured the judge will side with them.
Jeffrey Kerr, general counsel to Peta, says:
Slavery is slavery, and it does not depend on the species of the slave any more than it depends on gender, race, or religion.
Two of the orcas are in SeaWorld Orlando and the other three are at SeaWorld San Diego. Poor babies!!

We're very impressed!
Jason Mraz became the first celebrity to participate on the ground with "Free the Slaves", a nonprofit organization whose mission is to "end slavery worldwide."
Jason traveled to Ghana this past week and spent five days in the country traveling with a former child slave to learn more about the injustice. James Kofi Annan, Jason's guide, founded a school in Winneba, where many former slaves come to learn and be free.
Peggy Callahan, the organization's co-founder and executive producer, said that it was very special for her and the children to see Jason's involvement with the cause:
"The movement to end slavery really needs more voices, but they really need to be authentic voices, people who really do care about an issue. And Jason's one of those people, and he's willing to take the time to find out."
It's horrible to think of what these poor children are going through, but it's wonderful to know there are those fighting for their freedom.
Props to you Jason for doing some much needed good in another neighborhood!
