Stephen Collins did NOT kill himself.
After the news broke that the 7th Heaven star was under investigation for child molestation, reporters waited outside his house in the San Fernando Valley.

Apparently one of them said they heard a gunshot, prompting police to descend on the house.
At the time, many on the scene believed Collins had committed suicide.
That rumor spread all the more quickly after his neighbor, Baywatch star Donna D’Errico, tweeted what she was hearing outside.
But the truth was, no one was even home.
And according to those close to Collins, he is very much alive and has been in contact.

D’Errico later apologized for spreading the rumor that Collins had shot himself, tweeting:
Man. We’re not sure 7th Heaven fans could take any more tragedy this week.
