If this is true, it’s one of the most insanely troubling things we have ever heard!
A North Carolina-based emergency dispatcher named John Ruckh has been fired after allegedly talking smack about Oprah Winfrey on the job.
Think that’s crazy? Hold on to your Sunday hat because it gets a lot friggin’ nuttier!
It turns out the dude threw shade at the LEAST APPROPRIATE TIME EVER! He dissed her while his co-worker was fielding an emergency 911 call in an attempt to help Maya Angelou!!
What the hell????? Seriously???
Someone dials 9-1-1 hoping to save the life of the 20th century’s greatest poet, but instead is faced with an emergency dispatch guy who’s talking smack about Oprah???
That’s insane!! Especially considering Oprah was Maya’s dear friend!!!
John’s allegedly nasty comments were recorded on audio and are hard to make out, but it sounds like he said Oprah fell from grace after suggesting that some racists “just have to die.”
Wow, we don’t know what he was talking about, but it doesn’t matter! This was clearly neither the time nor the place for that discussion!
Pressed for comment on why he let his caged bird sing, (the now jobless) John only offered:
“Unfortunately I work in a high-profile job and everything’s recorded.”
Ugh, unfortunately indeed.
Hopefully this hasn’t caused additional heartache for Maya’s friends, family, and loved ones.
The 86-year-old poet and civil rights leader died Wednesday; she continues to be missed.
UPDATE: Earlier reports said the dispatcher was fired, but now it seems he may have only been suspended. Either way, it looks like he’s in trouble!
How do U think he should be punished?
