If Diddy gets his way — and it sure sounds like he’s going to, based on brand-new candid comments made by his attorney — the rap mogul will be taking the stand should his ongoing case make it all the way to trial.
Of course, the Bad Boy Records founder is currently sitting in jail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. As Diddy languishes behind bars, his attorney Marc Agnifilo is doing the media rounds. That hasn’t exactly been going so swimmingly up to this point. For one, as you’ll recall, earlier on Thursday morning we covered Agnifilo’s WACKY comments about what Diddy was doing with all that lube!
But the legal side of this situation is getting very murky. And that’s because according to Angifilo himself, Diddy WANTS to testify should his case make it before a judge! F**k the Fifth Amendment, right?! Jeez!!

Agnifilo’s shocking revelation came as part of a preview clip for TMZ‘s forthcoming documentary The Downfall Of Diddy: The Indictment. That show will stream in full on Tubi late on Thursday night. But in a two-minute preview, the outlet shared comments from the lawyer about Diddy’s steadfast desire to take the stand! Agnifilo admitted:
“I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand. I think he is very eager to tell his story.”
Whoa! And as we know now, Diddy is a very hard person to deny. So, we can only imagine that the mogul may be very persuasive in convincing his lawyer to allow him to take the stand under oath.
Naturally, among the many issues Diddy faces is the 2016 video of him assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel. That video’s existence is almost certainly going to come up at trial. But Agnifilo told TMZ that the A-lister will have an answer for it! The attorney explained that Diddy wants to address “every part of his story, including what you see in the video.” Seriously?! Agnifilo reasoned:
“I expect it’s going to be explained by the both of us.”
There better be a damn good explanation from both of them, then…
Obviously, if the rapper born Sean Combs actually does testify in any prospective trial, that opens him up to a HUGE risk in being cross-examined by prosecutors. Their angles on him could be very damaging with the jury. But Agnifilo was adamant in the clip that Diddy really, really wants to tell his story:
“He has his story. And he has a story, I think, only he can tell in the way he can tell it in real time. And it’s a human story, it’s a story of love, it’s a story of hurt, it’s a story of heartbreak.”
Wow. That is, uh, a hell of a way to spin all those allegations…

Per People, Diddy is due for his next court appearance in early October. And obviously, with his arrest occurring so recently, a trial — if one even happens — is a long way off. There isn’t even any trial date scheduled yet. We’ve got a ways to go!
