The Office Star Rainn Wilson Shows ‘Remains’ Of Home After Devastating California Wildfires Nearly Burned It Down

Rainn Wilson is reeling.

Last month, The Office star took to social media to reveal a tragic reality: his house was “severely” burned in the devastating Ventura County wildfires in California. In an Instagram video, he told followers:

“Our house almost burned down in the mountain fire out in Ventura County. You might have heard of it. 130 homes lost, hundreds more damaged. Ours was very severely damaged but we got to keep our home. A couple of our neighbors did not keep their homes. A big shoutout to my wife Holiday Reinhorn who was evacuating at the last minute our pigs, our animals as embers were flying over the hill at 60 miles-an-hour winds. It was crazy out there … I tell you it really hits hard.”

In a selfie video shared to his Soul Boom podcast account, the 58-year-old told followers:

“Well, this is not something I ever thought that I would be doing: walking through the remains of my bedroom, and my closet, and my bathroom.”

He then panned to a view of his “charred toilet” and his destroyed office before reflecting:

“There’s some kind of valuable lesson here. I’m not sure what it is. Kind of death and fire teaches you a lesson about the impermanence of life and the preciousness of what we have. So I hope you all stay grateful today for what you have.”

Poor dude… He added:

“It’s all a little much for me. I walk into this zone, I get so overwhelmed. My brain just goes offline. I can barely process it. But most of the house is intact and I’m grateful for that. We lost a lot of trees but we also kept a lot of trees. Isn’t that life?”

Wow. It’s going to take a lot to restore their home, but he seems to be maintaining a really optimistic attitude about it all. Our hearts are with him! We’re just glad him, his wife, and all their animals are okay!!
