Excellent news!
One of our favorite new bands, The xx, won the UK’s Barclaycard Mercury Prize for their debut album, xx!
The award honors the best album of the year coming from a British or Irish singer or group, and includes a $30,000 prize!
Frontman Oliver Sim says:
“I don’t know what we were expecting but we weren’t expecting this.”
Congratulations, guys! We definitely think you deserve it – that album is AMAZING!
