South Carolina Personal Trainer That Mysteriously Vanished Has Been Found Dead

This isn’t the update anyone wanted to hear…

Elena Katherine Moore, the personal trainer who went missing in South Carolina earlier this month, has been found dead. As we previously reported, the 39-year-old was last seen at a Planet Fitness that she often went to in Lexington on June 11. After she left the gym that night, local outlets reported she wandered off toward a wooded area behind a Lowe’s Home Improvement Store. Her husband reported her missing the following day on June 12.

The people who knew Elena said it wasn’t like her to just go wandering off like that, and were immediately very concerned about the situation. And now, the Lexington Police Department has been given this heartbreaking update.

On Friday, officials confirmed the deceased person they found in the woods matched the description of Elena, and was wearing what she was last seen in. They said on Saturday she was sent off for an autopsy, and they’ll likely have more information about what happened by end of day Monday.

Our heart breaks for Elena’s loved ones. May she rest in peace, and they get answers soon.
