Obama Not Intimidated By Trump’s ‘Obsession’ With Him: ‘Shows Me Somebody Who’s Not Focused On The American People’

Barack Obama is weighing in on Donald Trump’s clear “obsession” with him!

On Wednesday, the former president appeared on the All the Smoke podcast, where he was asked about Trump’s… we’ll just say crassness… which is often directed at him, and whether he’d ever like to just cuss the dude out. And his response was a masterclass! He said:

“The thing about it is — look, you gotta ask him what it is, the obsession. I obviously have a room in his head. A suite in his head.”

LOLz! He went on to take a jab at Trump’s seeming lack of focus:

“First of all, when I was president, the last thing I had to do was worry about what someone said or what my predecessor did. They’re gone. I’ve got work to do.”

The 64-year-old went on:

“If you’re doing the job right, every day you’ve got five, 10 things that are real hard, and you have to be constantly focused. The idea that I would be worried about somebody who came before, and me trying to measure, ‘What’s he done today?’ Constantly worrying about that is a strange thing to me. It shows me somebody who’s not focused on the American people and the job they’re supposed to do.”

Obama had more to say about his time in office and choosing what to avoid and what to plug into:

“The other thing I learned pretty early in this gig was you have to screen out the noise in order to understand what’s in front of you and deal with it well. My whole presidency, I never watched cable TV. Never watched cable news. I didn’t have social media. There were people on my staff whose job it was to monitor what folks were saying, because you also want to have input when you’re getting constructive criticism, or when the American people are upset about something. You need to get that feedback loop. And the flip side of that is you also don’t get puffed up when things are going good.”

He continued:

“If you are constantly worrying about what other people have to say — somebody could have a bad day and cuss you out and suddenly they control your performance, your thought process. So I screened that stuff out pretty early and I ain’t worried about it. Another way to put it is no reason to dignify that kind of stuff.”

Good advice!
