Despite a bunch of drama leading up to the reunion, King Charles III really did everything in his power to have a successful – and incredibly private — reunion with Prince Harry and his grandkids!
The reunion took place at Highgrove House, and no photos were taken. Those measures seemed like enough to ensure privacy… but it turns out the monarch went above and beyond!
According to Us Weekly sources on Wednesday, he kicked out his staff!
“The staff [at Highgrove] was dismissed before Harry and Meghan and the kids arrived.”

Only a few of Charles and Queen Camilla’s closest aides were allowed to stay for the duration of the visit, they added:
“Details were kept under wraps. They didn’t want anything to get out.”
Now, we know staff at Buckingham Palace wanted NOTHING to do with serving Harry! We wonder if that’s really what was up here? Were they kicked out… or conveniently allowed to leave? Hmm. Either way, fewer people around did seem to prevent leaks about the visit!
And it helped the visit have a more low-key, family-focused vibe than anything more official. To maintain the peace between the often embattled relatives, “certain topics were off limits.” They added:
“They [all] agreed beforehand that they would not discuss any topics making headlines in the press, including the court case.”
Harry lost his phone hacking lawsuit against Associated Newspapers at the start of his UK travels, which was used as one reason the palace didn’t want Harry staying on their grounds. The source went on:
“The king and queen wanted personal time with their grandchildren, and they wanted it to be lighthearted and positive. The point of the meeting was to spend time with them, and that was the only thing on the agenda.”
In fact, the kids are the ONLY reason the visit took place! Charles and Camilla “would only agree to the meeting if the kids were coming.” Wow. That doesn’t mean Charles doesn’t care about his son, though. He tried to house him, after all, even though that was a complete disaster — one this source is now blaming on the Duke of Sussex! They said:
“Everything the Palace does is planned at least two months in advance. There’s no way they could plan for a guest last minute, and Harry knows that.”
And when security became a problem, it put His Majesty in a tough spot:
“He has to walk a very fine line. He is Harry’s father and would like to do almost anything to make his son feel comfortable. But as king, he knows even the appearance of influencing security decisions could create political controversy. He sees himself as protecting the family and the crown, but those two goals don’t always align.”
That’s for sure…
It’s so interesting to hear that, when it comes to matters he’s deeply passionate about, such as reuniting with his grandchildren in person, Charles will do just about anything to make sure it goes smoothly, though! Shows where his priorities lie!
