New Evidence In Nolan Wells Investigation May Prove He Was On Island When Friends Left -- And More Key Details From Witnesses!

18-Year-Old Teen Found Dead After Fourth Of July Boat Trip With Friends -- Investigators Take Key Step To Determine What Happened

New information about what may have happened to Nolan Wells is coming to light!

As Perezcious readers know, the 18-year-old was reported missing after he didn’t return home with his friends after going on a boating excursion to Horn Island in Mississippi on the Fourth of July. Days later, he was found dead near the island. Local authorities believe he may have drowned, but his family has launched a private investigation to figure out exactly what happened, as they don’t believe the story his friends have been sharing.

And now, if this new evidence proves to be legit, it could be a major turning point in the investigation.

Sources with knowledge of the investigation told TMZ on Monday that at least two witnesses who have been interviewed by authorities claim they saw Nolan on the island after his friends’ boat left to go back to the mainland. If true, that’s huge.

As Perezcious readers know, on the way back home, the friends’ boat started sinking, and they placed a call to Sea Tow, a private tow service, for help. In the frantic recording, some have speculated that someone can be heard saying in the background:

“Is he dead?”

But now sources claim that people on the boat who have heard the enhanced audio recording are insisting to others that the panic was only from the boat sinking. But sources have not gone into specifics about what was said during the call.

TMZ‘s intel claims the company was sending out a boat to tow Nolan’s friends; however, a friend in another boat saw them and towed them back instead.

New video evidence obtained by The Officer Tatum Show, which was taken during this chaos, also seems to show that Nolan was not on the boat when it was being towed. See at around 9:32 minutes in:

Meanwhile, one of Nolan’s best friends, Warren Hudson, is also speaking out. He appeared on Brandon Tatum‘s podcast earlier this week, alleging he last saw the teen at 3 p.m. that day before the boat left the island at around 4:30 p.m., but that he “talked to someone personally” who saw Nolan at 6 p.m. on the island.

He claimed his friends weren’t the last ones to see Nolan, saying there were “dozens on dozens on dozens” of boats near the island when they departed. While they told Nolan to get on before leaving, the athlete chose to stay back with a woman, whose sister has already come forward and said she was under the impression that Nolan was going back with those he arrived with.

And there’s more…

According to ABC News, preliminary information in a document from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources says that witnesses told investigators that Nolan was drinking heavily with his friends on the island. This aligns with the fact that Nolan’s friends have said he was drinking with them on the island.

That said, toxicology test results as well as the Medical Examiner’s official autopsy results, have not been shared at this time. An independent coroner’s preliminary results showed the death was “undetermined pending investigation.” Those results will be so important in this case.

A lot of new information, but sadly, a lot of mystery still, too… We continue to think of Nolan’s family and friends as they mourn this loss and hope answers will be revealed and justice, if necessary, will be served.
