Prince Harry is moving on.
African Parks, a nonprofit conservation organization that manages protected areas across in partnership with governments and local communities across Africa, has lost its royal tie.
A year after acknowledging some of its rangers had committed human rights abuses, the organization says goodbye to the Spare author, with a spokesperson for Meghan Markle‘s husband announcing on Monday:
“The duke is proud of his 10 years with African Parks and fully supports the ongoing strengthening of its board. His commitment to conservation in Africa continues, and he remains a supporter of African Parks’ mission.”
Prince Harry first joined in 2016, became President in 2017, and later joined the Board of Directors in 2023.
In January 2024, accusations of rape, torture, and beatings by rangers went public. In May 2025, the organization acknowledged that an independent investigation found the claims to be true.
“We deeply regret the pain and suffering that these have caused to the victims. Omnia’s process also highlighted several failures of our systems and processes that were insufficient for the level of responsibility given to us.”
Last week, news broke that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are moving back to the UK, enrolling their children in school there, and maintaining a private life outside of royal duties. It’s a new chapter for the controversial duo, and now it’s one without a scandal-ridden charity attached to his name.

As for what Meghan will be doing across the pond, we last heard she landed a role on Guy Ritchie‘s action-comedy series The Gentlemen. It was fantastic news for the former Suits star, though a report dropped over the weekend claiming her spot in season 3 of the Netflix show may have already been dropped!
