A lot of people are pissed off at her in Bosnia, so perhaps its better this way.
After a rather public battle to get her permits back to film in the country, Angelina Jolie has decided to cut the shooting schedule short in Bosnia on her new movie. Thing is, after the rumors that her movie is about a relationship between a rapist and his victim spread like wildfire, Angie’s not so sure its a good idea anymore.
She had originally planned a ten day shoot in Bosnia for her directorial debut, but one of her producers, Edin Sarkic, confirms that the dates have been widdled down to three or four, with Angie only coming to set for a brief visit. The change stems from the angry and passionate response from a women’s organization who were outraged to hear that Angie’s movie was about a rape victim falling in love with her rapist. They had gone to city officials to pressure the production out, but when it was confirmed that the rumor plot line was untrue, the city backed off.
Still, there is a shadow over the project now that no one is really comfortable with, so the shoot was cut short.
Shame for the country, who stood to make a lot more money the longer the crew was in the borders, but we can understand why they’re doing this. Keeps everyone safer in the end.
