An Update On Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords

The doctors who are treating U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot in the head at Saturday’s terrible tragedy in Arizona, have given a detailed update on how the congresswoman is doing in her recovery.

Dr. Michael Lemole, Jr. says that he is “cautiously optimistic” while Dr. Rhee says that “this so far has been a very good situation” and hopes “it will stay that way.”

Giffords is responding and is expected to stay in the hospital for another two to three weeks before beginning the rehabilitative process.

Meanwhile, President Obama has called for a national moment of silence Monday at 11 a.m. EST to honor victims of the shooting.
