A far cry from the swift kick NBC gave him not too long ago!
Michael Wright, head of programming at TBS, has admitted to sources that the network is very pleased with Conan O’Brien’s nightly viewership and ratings. Bringing in around 1 million viewers (18-49) on average, Conan’s got the full support of the network to be renewed for another year – and many, many more after that! Michael raved:
“It’s landing right about where we expected it to. At this number, Conan will run as long as he wants it to.”
But how much longer will he really run?
In truth, Conan told the same source that he’s extremely happy where he is now, but he doesn’t see himself doing this for the rest of his life – or the rest of his career, we should say. He explained:
“My goal is not to do this forever. I just want to do this really well for a period of time until I have nothing left to say and then go away.”
But have no fear, CoCo fans. We don’t see that day coming anytime soon. He’s just getting started at TBS, so you needn’t worry about him heading off and leaving you laughless for awhile.
