Academy Award-winning English Patient director Anthony Minghella died suddenly this morning. Now, details have emerged on what caused his tragic death at the far too young age of 54.

A spokesman for the director said he suffered a brain hemorrhage at 5 A.M. Tuesday morning at Charing Cross Hospital in London, where he had undergone a routine operation on his neck.

So sad.
