Ted Nugent Wants You To Talk About Guns All The Time; Then Shreds On Guitar

Nugent Speaks At NRA Public Relations

It’s no secret that Ted Nugent loves the NRA, and that they love him too.

He recently spoke at the NRA annual meeting, where he said the gun issues in the country can all be boiled down to public relations. Because, you know, just gotta put that positive spin on that kid who accidentally shot his mom, and give guns away as a satellite tv promotion.

He said, to about 2,000 people:

“You need to fix everybody in your lives to be absolutely pro-gun. You need to talk guns all the time. You need to talk hunting all the time. The gun community should be all about public relations. We haven’t turned up the heat enough yet.”

In a bid to get people to never take a future political campaign seriously, he went on to say:

“If it was up to me, if you uttered the word ‘gun control,’ we’d put you in jail. Does anybody not know that the most dangerous place in the world is a gun-free zone?”

And then he played the Star Spangled Banner on his guitar to the delight of the crowd, on a stage that was decorated with “assault rifles leaning against the amplifiers, a hunting bow, skulls, antlers and arrows.”

Does he and the NRA really think that making it harder for those who are not responsible enough, or people with malicious intent, to get guns is a life-threatening problem? Because to us, it doesn’t sound like anyone is taking their guns out of their hands or their end-ability to buy them, but rather putting up a little inconvenience that their passion for guns should surpass.

Obama recently tried to get the opposing sides together to find ways to make gun control more effective, rather than outright ban them, but the NRA rejected that call. Because, not compromising and being stubborn for safety sake is always the best call.

It’s time we all come together to figure something out. Seriously. While we understand the right to own and use guns, and the right that Ted has to voice his opinion, we also are tired of seeing gun violence and kids being hurt. Something HAS to change!

How do U feel about gun control??
