Jelly Roll is back for more!
The country crooner has been filling in for Jimmy Kimmel on the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, and in doing so, he has gotten a lot of attention. As you’ll recall from our reporting a few days back, the country music superstar made a ton of jokes at Donald Trump‘s expense — and the audience was loving it!
But not everybody loved it. Plenty of folks on social media went CRAZY criticizing Bunnie Xo‘s ex-husband for supposedly coming down too hard on The Donald during his opening monologue the other day.
But over the past couple days, Jelly Roll has come back with a vengeance — and even more clapbacks! The singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has been laughing all the way through the week at how much social media backlash he’s been getting over the last 72 hours.
During one part of a reaction monologue on a Kimmel ep that went live on Tuesday night, he said:
“Any US president should be able to handle a few jokes, right?”
Amen!
And when JR noted how some people are threatening to stop listening to his music altogether because of it, the performer goaded those fair-weather fans into doing it, with the challenge “go right ahead.”
Jelly Roll then added:
“As a former felon and drug dealer, who has lost 300 pounds, has tattoos all over his face — and won three Grammys — this is the weirdest thing I’ve ever done to ‘stun’ people.”
Ha!
His entire reaction monologues are definitely worth watching, BTW.
