Remember the good ole days of AOL chatrooms? Well, they’re SORT OF coming back!
Lady GaGa and Kanye West have reportedly invested in Turntable.fm, which consists of chatrooms where people take turns DJing songs for the other peeps in the room via MediaNet or MP3 uploads.
So far, 300,000 people have access to the site, but it’s currently by invite-only, so you’ll need a friend who’s got the hook up to join.
Once you DO get on the site, you can create and/or join rooms where you’ll start playing music for chat buddies, who will rate your songs as “awesome” or “lame.”
Sounds like fun! And at the very least, it’ll spur interesting conversation in chat rooms, which will DEF be a step up from classic AOL chatroom conversations which went something like “hey. wats up? a/s/l/pic? anybody here from Texas? wanna cyber?” LOLz.
Will U join Turntable.fm? Are GaGa and Kanye making a wise decision by investing in it?
