We LOVE her!!!
For those of you who aren’t already aware of her amazingness, the Duchess of Alba is a Spanish aristocrat with MORE titles than anyone in the world! She has over 46, which include “duchess,” “countess,” and “marquesa.”
This fall, she’ll get yet another title: WIFE!
The 85-year-old Duchess is getting married to 61-year-old “commoner” Alfonso Diez, which will make him the Duke of Alba.
Previously, the Duchess was married to Luis Martinez de Irujo, whom she lost in 1972. Following that, she was romantically linked to a variety of “matadors and flamenco dancers,” until she married ex-priest Jesus Aguirre in the ’70s.
Unfortunately, the Duchess’ children are NOT crazy about their mother’s soon-to-be hubby. Here’s what she had to say about their disapproval:
“The tough part was that my children didn’t understand and they got quite angry with me.”
Seems like she’s winning over her childrens’ support by dividing up her massive wealth to them before the marriage. Smart move!
