Despite heavy talk of a Sex and the City prequel film, the franchise’s head writer and director, Michael Patrick King, told journalists last week:
My Carrie Bradshaw started at 33 and I took her to 40. For me the idea of going backward and making her less evolved…is something I don’t even imagine doing. I am sure Candace Bushnell did a great job on them (the books) but I have no connection to a prequel.
But according to some inside sources, it isn’t a film in fact, but a tv series the franchise is working on (with or without MPK we guess):
Ultimately Darren Star – the man who created the hit series – will have the overall say, but everyone is agreed a TV show is the direction they want to take the franchise in. Sarah Jessica Parker will be producing. She was worried about doing another film after the bad reaction to the SATC2 movie, but a TV show is definitely something she wants to happen.
Hmmm, interesting. Verrry interesting. We’ll see how this talk pans out…
Honestly, if you ask us, we thought Sex and the City 2 was fabulous. If you weren’t a fan of the series, you probably thought it was a hot mess, and rightfully so. But, c’mon, it wasn’t made to win an Oscar.
The second movie was much closer to the feel of the first one, and we’d rather see a third story of the evolved four than go back in time.
But don’t get us wrong! We’ll try anything out involving the SatC!!!
