Johnny Depp Apologizes For Rape Comparison
As we reported yesterday, Johnny Depp recently told Vanity Fair that constantly being photographed by the paparazzi and having his privacy invaded by is like being “raped├óΓé¼┬ª it feels like kind of weird .. just weird, man.”
Naturally, with words so loaded, the actor felt a backlash.
RAINN, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, issued a statement addressing his comments.
And while we were a bit shocked as well, we knew he by no means meant to use the word in the worst connotation. We just felt that he, as a public figure (adored by many women), could have prepared with more sensitivity and chosen better words.
Fortunately, he agrees and offers more pleasant words in his apology:

I am truly sorry for offending anyone in any way. I never meant to. It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling. I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology.

RAINN has accepted his apology, and we still love him just the same as well!
Johnny isn’t one to issue a fake apology. We know he means it!
