It turns out there is more at stake than just the Mirror Ball Trophy on Dancing With The Stars and there is actually a bitter rivalry between some of the pros on the show. More specifically, Derek Hough and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Insiders are revealing that the two dancers actually HATE each other, saying:
“The professional dance community is really small. The dancers have known one another their entire lives. Now that the group is famous, it’s added a whole other level of rivalry and competitiveness.”
Another source reveals Maksim’s short romantic relationship with Derek’s sister, Julianne Hough, may have also contributed to the tension between the two DWTS hunks.
“Julianne told Maks she didn’t want to have a serious relationship,” the source revealed. Maksim didn’t take too kindly to Julianne getting serious with Ryan Seacrest shortly after and retaliated by “planting false rumors that Julianne was cheating on Ryan with Maks.”
A different insider, however, doesn’t think Derek is as innocent as his cutie pie face looks and said:
“Derek is dating Lauren Conrad for publicity. He is focused on becoming a huge star like Julianne.”
Let’s let these boys do what they do best and settle their beef on the dance floor! Both are still in the running to win it this year, so we look forward to seeing whether Derek or Maksim lasts longer!
