Uh-oh! Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may have found themselves in a real-life neighborhood drama, and this time, the bad blood isn’t about a breakup song!
According to a brand-new report out on Friday, the superstar couple’s plans to boost security and privacy around their $5 million lakefront mansion in Bratenahl, Ohio, have ruffled some feathers among their neighbors. The newlyweds, who tied the knot in July, want fencing and landscaping around their property. Sounds simple, right?! Well… no. And now, some locals aren’t exactly singing their praises.

At a recent village planning meeting, per DailyMail.com, longtime resident Katherine Bolton raised concerns about the couple’s plans to plant evergreen trees near an old sewer line shared by their properties. She warned that the roots could cause costly plumbing problems and said she had been quoted $75,000 to protect the line.
Bolton didn’t mince words, declaring:
“This applicant may decide to sell her house next year, maybe move on and buy another house.”
She also asked:
“What am I going to do when I have 50 evergreen trees on my sewer line, and they’re gone? And I’m still living here in Bratenahl.”
Yikes! That’s one expensive potential headache!
Another neighbor, Chuck Bauernschmidt, who lives two doors down, criticized the landscaping work, calling it:
“Ridiculous … clear cutting of the shrubbery and everything else.”
He also claimed the trees had been removed and worried that deer could impale themselves on the proposed fence. Talk about a wild turn in suburban living!
But Team Taylor and Travis isn’t backing down! Their planner, Jacob Kutz of Tiny Construction, explained that the couple simply wants privacy and security following what he called one of the largest home sales ever in Cuyahoga County.
And get this: The original proposal called for an eight-foot fence, but it was scaled back to six feet, with the fencing stopping short of nearby Lake Erie. Kutz also pointed to efforts intended to keep the peace, including having the shared sewer line jetted and cleaned without asking neighbors to contribute and adding a gate for Bauernschmidt after he expressed feeling “closed off.”

According to the DM, the Bratenahl Architectural Review Board approved the six-foot fence in September, and the landscaping in front of the estate received approval at Tuesday’s meeting. A third plan is expected to come before the board in the future.
So, will this Ohio neighborhood drama finally settle down, or is another round of bad blood on the horizon?
One thing’s for sure: Even a beloved superstar couple can’t escape a little neighborhood tea!
