Oscar Voting Goes Electronic In 2013

Oscars online
Starting next year, members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be sending in their votes for the Oscars electronically.
According to a press release, the Academy “has entered into an agreement with Everyone Counts Inc. to exclusively develop an electronic voting system for the 85th Academy Awards.”
Sources say that the new voting will ultimately be faster, more efficient and eventually lead to the award ceremony being broadcast nearly an entire month earlier.
The only downside is the threat of hackers tampering with the results, but an 18-month search for a reputable company to create a secure voting system has left the Academy confident this is only an improvement.
Whatever works, but here’s our advice: Don’t piss off Anonymous.
