The Beebs is not just your little sister’s tween crush anymore; he’s 18 and ready to drop a bomb on the world – a bomb of sick hip-hop rhythms and freak nasty beats!
Well, at least according to music producer Mike Posner.
On March 26th, Justin’s new song Boyfriend will invade our ears with a far more mature sound than what we’ve become accustomed to from the pop-sensation.
The track, produced by Posner, is far more hip-hop than pop, as he explains:
“I have Bieber’s new single…I wrote and produced that with him. And wait ’til you hear the beat; you’re going to flip. You’re going to want to play this song. Yes, it’s super hip-hop.”
And just you wait, Bieber fans and converts: the soprano crooner is reigning in his silver voice to lay down some fat raps on the track!! Hohhh maaan!!
It seems that Posner wanted to cover their ass’ bases with this song, stating:
“That was our whole goal, was to make something that was hater-proof.”
One radio DJ out in Baltimore got hold of track, and likens the new sound to the one Justin Timberlake found after his transition from *NSYNC teeny-pop to a more adult sound on Sexy Back. He then states:
“…best comparison is it sounds like ‘Wait’ by the Ying Yang Twins.”
Boyfriend comes off of Bieber’s upcoming album Believe, set to be released sometime this summer.
Ooo we can’t wait to see what Beebs has for our eagerly waiting ears!!
