Welp! At least he’s making an effort… some guys don’t even know how to do that!
After publicly airing Chevy Chase‘s voicemail, Community creator Dan Harmon hasn’t been able to live it down.
With the backlash from the media, and the show’s cast standing behind Chevy, Dan inevitably faced some reflection time.
And here’s what he has to say about all of it:
I made the horrible, childish, self-obsessed, unaware, naive and unprofessional decision to play someone’s voicemail to me. He didn’t intend for people to listen and giggle at it, and I didn’t intend for millions of people to read angry reports about it.
The giant mistake I made was involving someone else in that game of russian roulette, someone that didn’t have an opportunity to say “yeah, hilarious, let’s do this.” That was a dumb, unclassy, inconsiderate move on my part. I’m very sorry it’s reflecting poorly on the show.
Hmm… so what should he do with his actions now to match his words??
Maybe write it into the script somehow and give Chevy a figurative crown for a day??
