Ohhh, this feud is getting messy!
Former TV news stars Megyn Kelly and Brooke Baldwin are suddenly at odds, after what started as commentary about a deeply personal essay has now turned into a very public war of words. And if you thought Baldwin was going to stay quiet after Kelly blasted her, think again!

So, all this drama began after Baldwin opened up in a candid Substack essay recently about navigating life after divorce and embracing a new chapter as a single woman. In her essay, the former CNN anchor reflected on being approached by several men as a newly single woman, while also sharing some very personal thoughts about intimacy and dating. All in all, it was a pretty thoughtful essay!
But Kelly came away with a very different interpretation of Baldwin’s essay, and she didn’t hold back while discussing it during an appearance on the Ruthless podcast. The former Fox News host argued that Baldwin’s openness wasn’t doing her any favors professionally, suggesting it conflicted with the image of a respected journalist.
While acknowledging Baldwin is free to live however she chooses, Kelly questioned whether publicly sharing those details was the best path forward. At the time, Kelly said:
“I do not think this is the way. I actually think if that continues, you’re only going to dig a deeper hole for yourself and you deserve better. That’s my two cents on it, from the heart, one newswoman to another.”
But now, Baldwin says Kelly completely missed the point.
Days after Kelly’s comments spread across social media, Baldwin fired back in a brand-new, lengthy Instagram video. In the caption, she teased the response by writing that Kelly had gotten her story wrong and explained why that matters.
According to Baldwin, watching Kelly discuss her essay left her feeling physically ill because she believed the entire conversation was built on a false premise. Baldwin insisted that, despite Kelly’s characterization, her essay never claimed she slept with the four men she mentioned. Instead, Baldwin says the story explored the attention she received while remaining clear about what did and did not happen.

In the video, Baldwin declared:
“I realized she got the entire story wrong. Not a little wrong, but the entire premise wrong. The truth of my essay never made it to air.”
Yikes!
Baldwin also said she later realized Kelly’s show reaches millions of viewers, making what she described as inaccurate reporting even more troubling. She also criticized the fact that no one from Kelly’s team allegedly contacted her for comment before discussing the essay publicly.
Her response didn’t stop there, either. Baldwin added:
“Talk about a reckless disregard for the truth.”
Those are some fighting words!
According to Baldwin, she’s taking the matter seriously enough that her attorneys will be contacting Kelly in an effort to have the videos removed. She also framed the dispute as something much bigger than a personal disagreement, saying it raises concerns about journalism itself and the importance of getting the facts right before broadcasting them.
As Baldwin explained:
“This deeply matters to me, and it should matter to you, too.”
Baldwin continued by emphasizing the principles she believes should guide journalists, adding:
“Trust matters. Context matters. Nuance matters. Curiosity matters. And accuracy matters.”

Meanwhile, Kelly has since acknowledged that Baldwin did not actually have sex with the four men mentioned in the essay. However, Megyn argued that key context was hidden behind Substack’s paywall, and readers only received the full explanation if they subscribed.
Kelly later tried to walk it back even further by saying:
“It was all just a teaser to get you to pay to listen to her lame recitations about her life.”
Maybe, Megyn. But ya still got it wrong! And there you have it.
