Hollywood is moving to the UK!!
WB just gave the Leavesden studios (where all nine-thousand eight Harry Potter movies were shot) a $155.6 MILLION make-over!
They say the 200-acre site is now a state-of-the-art facility that could rival any major El Lay studio. Warner Bros. plans on making the joint their new home-base for across the pond productions.
WB announced the opening of their new baby studio in a press release, saying:
“Based just outside Watford, Hertfordshire, Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden is the only film studio in the country to be owned and operated by a major Hollywood studio. It is available to all kinds of productions, not just Warner Bros., from commercials to music videos, TV shows to feature films.”
WB hopes its new fancyass studio “helps further position the country as a center of filmmaking excellence.” (AKA make them tonz of ├é┬ú├é┬úEuros├é┬ú├é┬ú!!)
The revamp of Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden may not have gone down if it wasn’t for Harry and all his magical pals. After all, we’re assuming most of the revenue for this makeover came from HP profits — from the movies and the new studio tour that opened this past year at Leavesden.
Britain owes a LOT to that teen Wizard!!
